TRAFFIC ALERT: Icy Conditions on Roads & Bridges

  • 17/SR 25/SR 404 at Talmadge Bridge
  • SR 21 at viaduct north of fire station in Port Wentworth
  • US 301/SR 73 Bridges over Ogeechee River Overflow
  • Railway near Screven County Line
  • GA 119 South from Guyton to Bulloch Co. line, this includes the Steel Bridge.
  • The I-95 bridge crossing over Hwy 21
  • Hwy 171 Broad River Bridge
  • Carolina Street between 10th and 15th Street in Rincon
  • Highway 119 South from the City of Guyton to the Bulloch County line to include Steel Bridge
  • Highway 119 North on the bridge into South Carolina

          Closed Roads & Bridges:

  • The Sam Varnedoe drawbridge on Islands Expressway/Presidents Street Extenion is still closed.  There is ice on the bridge's metal grates and crews cannot spread salt or sand on these icy spots because it will fall through the grates.  Police are stationed on both sides of the bridge to allow emergency crews to pass and will address citizens' emergency needs as well.
