FROM STORM TEAM 3 METEOROLOGIST LEE HAYWOOD...

Black ice will be a issue this morning with temperatures below freezing. Any lingering liquid from yesterday will refreeze. Black ice is difficult to see. If you were to hit a spot while either driving or walking... it can cause you to lose control of your vehicle or to slip and fall.

If you hit a spot of black ice... take your foot off of the accelerator. Don't hit the brakes. Instead... keep your steering wheel steady. Do not overcorrect.

Your Forecast....

Today... Mostly cloudy and chilly. Patchy drizzle... freezing drizzle or sleet on the coast. Highs in the low to mid 40s. Winds north around 10 mph. The chance of precipitation is 10%.

Tonight... Partly cloudy and cold. Lows from 25 to 30 inland... with low 30s on the coast. Winds north around 5 mph.

Friday... Mostly sunny and not as chilly. Highs from 55 to 50 inland... to the low to mid 50s on the islands.

Friday Night... Fair skies early... becoming cloudy late. Chilly lows from the upper 30 to mid 40s inland... with upper 40s on the Atlantic shore.

Saturday... Partly sunny and warmer with a stray shower possible. Highs from the mid 60s to low 70s inland... to 60 to 65 on the coast. The chance of rain is 10%.

Your Forecast Discussion.... Good Thursday morning! A wave of low pressure offshore the Florida coast will move northeast along a stalled front today bringing mostly cloudy skies and chilly temperatures. Early this morning... temps are in the upper 20s to low 30s... and black ice will remain a threat through mid morning slowly melting away. Highs this afternoon will reach the low to mid 40s with a persistent north breeze. There could be a patch or two of very light rain... freezing rain or drizzle along the coast as moisture offshore may build back toward the coast. Chances are very low today though of this... only around 10%.

Partly cloudy and cold tonight as high pressure builds south toward the region. Lows will drop to between 25 and 30 inland... to the low 30s on the coast.

Mostly sunny skies... not as chilly with quiet weather Friday. Highs from 55 to 60 inland... to the low to mid 50s on the islands.

High pressure slides into the Atlantic Ocean this weekend allowing for a much milder air mass to develop as the flow aloft becomes zonal. This should bring nice weather Saturday with partly sunny skies and highs near 70. Only a stray shower to worry about.

Highs will reach around 70 Sunday with mostly cloudy skies as a cold front approaches. There will be a 40% chance of showers. Temperatures will lower a little Monday... into the seasonable mid 60s with clouds and scattered sunshine. An isolated shower is possible.

Temperatures remain mild Tuesday and Wednesday... with highs in the upper 60s to around 70. A few showers will be possible.

Have a great Thursday!
