CLAYTON, N.C. -

Three Clayton teens were arrested over the weekend for reportedly dragging a man with their car after an attempted drug deal.

Christian Wayne Lewis, 17, Jacob William Faison, 17, and William Anthony Pope, 16, are each charged with assault with a deadly weapon after a man said they dragged him behind their car.

John Paul Anderson, 50, said Lewis arranged to sell marijuana to him on Friday, but when he held out his hand to show the teens the cash, Lewis grabbed his wrist and dragged him in the street.

Clayton Police said Anderson was dragged about 50 feet, which resulted in cuts and scratches to his hands, wrist and shoulder. He was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released.

Lewis, Faison and Pope were later arrested at Lewis' parents' home just down the street from where the dragging reportedly occurred.

The three teens are also charged with common law robbery, and conspiracy to sell and deliver marijuana.

Lewis was additionally charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and is being held on a $63,000 bond.

Pope was additionally charged with resisting, delaying or objecting an officer after he tried to run from the arresting officers, and possession of a controlled substance on prison/jail premises when he was found with a marijuana joint while being booked. He is being held on an $85,000 bond.

Faison is being held on a $24,000 bond.

Police say the investigation is on-going and further charges could be pending, including against Anderson, who was attempting to buy marijuana.
