12 Dogs Rescued By Palmetto Animal League

OKATIE, S.C. -

12 dogs from Liberty County Animal Control in Georgia, are off the euthanasia list thanks to the Palmetto Animal League in Okatie.

"We are working with a group out of the New York/ New Jersey area and they had asked us if we could temporarily hold the dogs for their rescue efforts to take the dogs up to the Northeast for adoption," said director, Amy Campanini.

That group, "Making of Miracle Stories" animal rescue, called moms for short, is now partnering with PAL to save animals in our area from a death sentence.

"We're going to pull from local kill shelters and these animals will be available to the rescue agencies they partner with for adoption in theNortheast so its a win win for everybody."

PAL has rescued furry friends from shelters all over our area.

"We are a 'no-kill' organization, we believe that we can save them all, and that every effort should be made to do so."

Efforts like providing much-needed surgeries or medications for these animals and getting them ready for adoption......officials hope the animals will find good homes either here or up north.

"They are available for adoption from us, but any that aren't adopted will move on next month to the northeast for adoption, yes we are stretching our resources but that's what we do."
