Poona Ford Still Committed to Louisville... For Now!

Hilton Head High defensive tackle Poona Ford is still committed to Louisville... for now.  Today it became official, Cardinals head coach Charlie Strong is leaving UL to take over the Texas Longhorns.

August 6, 2013, Ford held a press conference to announce his decision to attend Louisville.

HHH head coach B.J. Payne, reached by phone in California, tells WSAV's Ken Slats that nine other schools have already reached out to make contact with Ford, should he decide to re-commit to another school.  (South Carolina, Missouri, Arizona, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Mississippi State, Wake Forest, Purdue and Michigan State).

Payne says that Ford is still committed to Louisville.  He says he really liked the school and made the decision not just because of the coaching staff.

Payne also says that Louisville has called to touch base with Ford and reinforce their interest in the star lineman.

The 4-Star defensive lineman chose the Cardinals over South Carolina, Tennessee, Kansas State and Purdue.

Poona Ford, his family and B.J. Payne are in California for the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl later today.

Ford and his Seahawks played on the WSAV Thursday Night Blitz Game of the Week, September 19th against Wade Hampton.
