Savannah State University Football Player Arrested

Savannah State football player Vaughn Cornelia has been arrested near his hometown in Manchester, Tennessee.

According to Newschannel 5 in Nashville, Cornelia has been charged with assault, drug possession and child endangerment.

Cornelia sat out this past season after being shot in an altercation at the corner of Broughton and Jefferson Streets in Savannah back in May.

SSU officials are "currently investigating" his arrest.
