FROM STORM TEAM 3 CHIEF METEOROLOGIST KRIS ALLRED...
Tracking A Weekend Storm
This weekend, a storm system will strengthen in the Gulf of Mexico, and it will push toward the northeast... right in our direction. This will bring rain showers and possibly a few thunderstorms.
For tonight, clouds will continue to increase from the southwest. Our skies will be mostly cloudy to overcast. Far inland areas will drop to lows in the upper 30s to the lower 40s. If you live closer to the coast, look for lows in the mid to upper 40s.
On Saturday, the Gulf of Mexico storm will approach. We will have cloudy skies, and rain chances will increase throughout the day. Highs will reach the upper 50s to the lower 60s.
The best chance for rain will be from Saturday night and into Sunday morning. We could see a few thunderstorms at this time too.
On Sunday, the storm system will move off to the northeast. We will have a chance of rain until at least noon or so. Then conditions should begin to improve later in the day.
Looking ahead to next week, temperatures should run about average with highs near 60 and lows near 40.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend and keep looking up!
