FROM STORM TEAM 3 CHIEF METEOROLOGIST KRIS ALLRED...
Milder Weather & Rain Chances Return
It is rather chilly in the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry, but milder weather is coming back. Milder weather, however, isn't the only thing coming back in this forecast. Get ready for more rain too.
For tonight, it will stay chilly. Under mostly cloudy skies and north winds, inland areas will drop to the mid to upper 30s. Coastal areas will drop to the lower 40s.
On Friday, we will be caught in between high pressure to the north and a low pressure system to the south in the Gulf of Mexico. So we will have mostly cloudy skies, and there will be a slight chance of a rain shower. Highs will be milder, reaching the mid to upper 50s.
On Friday night, expect mostly cloudy skies with another slight chance of a rain shower. Lows will drop to the lower 40s.
Then over the weekend, it will get warmer but our rain chances will go up too.
On Saturday, we will have mostly cloudy skies with a chance of rain and possibly a few thunderstorms. A storm system will approach from the southwest out of the Gulf of Mexico. Highs will reach around 60. On Sunday, rain chances will continue and highs will reach the upper 60s.
Looking ahead to next week, we will end 2013 with highs in the mid 60s. Then 2014 will begin with cooler weather with highs in the 50s and lows in the 30s.
Keep Looking Up!
