FROM STORM TEAM 3 CHIEF METEOROLOGIST KRIS ALLRED...
Colder Weather Returns Tonight
Our record warmth will come crashing down tonight. A cold front is moving through the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry this evening, and it will leave behind drier and colder air.
For tonight, expect a few showers from time to time. Skies will stay cloudy, and northwest winds will usher in colder air. Overnight lows will drop to the upper 40s to the lower 50s. This is a 20-degree drop from last night.
On Tuesday, we will start the day with a few clouds, especially along the coast. As the day continues, we will have sunny skies. With breezy northwest winds, highs will reach the upper 50s.
For Christmas Eve, most of us will drop below freezing. (Santa prefers it this way!) Under clear skies and north winds, look for lows around 30 degrees.
On Christmas Day, it will be a cold, brisk day. With sunny skies, highs will only top out in the lower to mid 50s.
For the rest of the week, a slight chance of rain will return on Thursday. By the weekend, highs will only warm a few degrees with highs in the lower 60s.
Keep Looking Up!
