Night race considered one of season's top events

BRISTOL, TN - For the second year in a row, NASCAR again recognized Bristol’s IRWIN Tools Night Race as one of the season’s top events. Known for fierce clashes and heart-stopping finishes, the August weekend is the only race to make the list in back-to-back years.

A perennial fan-favorite, the 2013 edition featured a dramatic fight to the finish between eventual winner Matt Kenseth and 2013 Food City 500 winner Kasey Kahne. Though Kahne pulled door-to-door with Kenseth in the waning laps, he was unable to complete the pass giving Kenseth his third career win at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Eleven cautions and a late-race seven-car pileup also marked the 500 lap event, which saw 16 lead changes among nine different drivers.

The 2014 contest inside the Last Great Colosseum is slated for Saturday, August 23, and weekend ticket packages are on sale now at www.bristol.tix.com or by calling (855) 580-5525.
