Auburn police arrest suspect for Sexual Abuse of Child

AUBURN, Ala. -

Auburn police arrested Charlie Franklin, 53, from Auburn Saturday on a felony warrant for Sexual Abuse of Child Less than 12 years old.

The arrest stems from an investigation of a Dec. 8 police report. The complainant reported to police that on the previous day, Franklin touched a child less than 12 years old inappropriately.  The incident occurred while several friends and relatives were gathered at a residence in the 700 Block of Lee Road 10.

An investigation into the incident was initiated by the Auburn Police Division and the Lee County Department of Human Recourses and an arrest warrant was subsequently obtained for Franklin.

He was taken into custody and transported to the Lee County Detention Facility where his bond was set at $25,000.
