Posted: Updated:
WASHINGTON, D.C. -

Solowave is recalling about 10,800 Tornado brand home playground tube slides with port holes in the U.S. The company says the product poses a laceration hazard if the plastic port hole-type windows in the tube slide break. Solowave has received 23 reports of minor injuries to children, including cuts and scrapes, from contact with broken port holes.

Consumers are urged to stop using the product and contact Solowave to receive a free repair kit for the port hole windows. Consumers can contact Solowave toll-free at (866) 678-0376 or online at www.solowavedesign.com and click on Important Safety Notice for more information.

The slides are green, six or seven feet long and have three or five port hole-style plastic windows in the sides and sold at: Toys R Us and other stores nationwide, and online at toysrus.com from February 2008 through August 2013 for between $1,300 and $1,800 as part of a play system, or between $275 and $370 for the slide only.
