Georgia Grad Rates Up

Georgia teens appear more likely to succeed, based on the latest stats. 

State education officials announced today the graduate rate among public high school students in Georgia is by close to 2 percentage points over last year. 

Last year, Georgia's graduation rate stood at 69.7 percent, while this it is at 71.5 percent.

Here are the graduation rates for some of our local districts:

Appling County:  83.4%

Bryan County:  75.1%

Bulloch County:  71.7%

Camden County:  85.5%

Candler County:  71.7%

Chatham County:  69.8%

Effingham County:  79.7%

Emanuel County:  75.5%

Evans County:  71.9%

Glynn County:  81%

Jeff Davis County:  73.3%

Liberty County:  72.3%

McIntosh County:  67.9%

Pierce County:  91%

Screven County:  83.4%

Tattnall County:  65.9%

Toombs County:  66.5%

Truetlen County:  70.3%

Twiggs County:  75.3%

Ware County:  82.6%

Wayne County:  69.6%
