Water main break floods Cary neighborhood

CARY, N.C. -

A water main break on Gentlewoods Drive in Cary has flooded a neighborhood and left dozens without water, according to officials.

The incident happened at approximately 6:30 a.m. Wednesday. A portion of the road is closed and approximately 40 homes are without water and 11 homes are directly impacted by the road closure, officials said.

Crews are onsite making repairs and water service and road access is estimated to be restored by 5 p.m. Wednesday. Posted detours direct drivers to use Southglen Drive to Killingsworth Drive and Kelekent Lane to Hassellwood Drive.
