Durham police investigate early morning shooting

DURHAM, N.C. -

Durham police are investigating an early morning shooting that occurred on Commerce Street.

Police said shots were fired into an apartment at 143 Commerce Street around 1 a.m. Saturday.

Darren Taylor, 27, was shot while sleeping in the apartment. Taylor was taken to the hospital for treatment of critical injuries, according to police.

No charges have been filed.
