Posted: Updated:
OPELIKA, Ala. -

Opelika Police are searching for a female suspected of cashing a social security check that did not belong to her. Police say the victim called the Social Security office to inquire about her check and was told it had been signed for on October 18, 2013 and that the check was issued for $2,130.00. The check was cashed at a Wal-Mart in Fairfield, Alabama on October 19, 2013.

Opelika Police have released a photograph of the woman they believe cashed the check as well as a second suspect and a photo of their vehicle, a dark colored pick-up truck with a camper shell.

The two are wanted for questioning. Anyone with information about the identities of the two individuals or information about the pick-up truck are encouraged to call the Opelika Police Department Investigative Services Division at (334) 745-705-5220. They may also remain anonymous by calling the Secret Witness Hotline at (334) 745-8665.
