Former UN Ambassador, Civil Rights Activist Andrew Young to Speak at GSU

STATESBORO, GA -

He's led a lifetime of public service and worked tirelessly to improve human and civil rights around the world.

Diplomat and civil rights activist Andrew Young will be the featured speaker at Georgia Southern University's 2014 MLK Celebration.

The annual event which commemorates the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., will take place Wednesday, January 22 at 7 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center (PAC), 847 Plant Drive.

Young has served as the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, U.S. Congressman and Atlanta Mayor. He is a best-selling author and an Emmy-nominated television show producer of "Andrew Young Presents" through the Andrew Young Foundation which works to end racism, war and poverty.

The event is free. Tickets will not be distributed; however, seating is limited.
