PREVIOUS STORY:

On the run since 10 a.m. Sunday, a Washington County man has still not been found.

At 2 a.m. Johnson City Police officers responded to an aggravated assault at the 11-E Motel on W Market Street.

According to JCPD, the victim says Jerry T Cummings, 41, of Gray forced her in to his car on Hales Chapel Road at gun point.

She said Cummings then took her to the 11-E Motel.

She said he broke her cell phone to prevent her from dialing 911.

She called someone to help her and when that person arrived Cummings pulled a gun out, waived it around and told them both they weren't leaving until he left. The victim was able to escape and dial 911.

Cummings fled the scene in his car.

Then around 2:30a.m., Washington County officers responded to a domestic assault with Cummings once again as the suspect.

A warrant from the Washington County Sheriff's office was then issued for Cummings.

In Washington County he's charged with aggravated domestic assault.

In Johnson City, Cummings is charged with aggravated assault, false imprisonment, meaning holding someone against their will, and vandalism for breaking the victim's phone.

On Sunday at 10:30 a.m. on Old Gray Station Road, an officer recognized Cummnings driving his white vehicle, the officer turned on his lights and Cummnings sped off, turned on Buckingham Road, and ended up abandoning his car in a field on the backside of a residential home and fled in to the woods on foot.

The woods back up to the McDonalds off Exit 13 on Interstate 26.

Washington County Sheriff's Officers and Johnson City Police Officers searched and surrounded the woods for hours.

Mary Murray, Cummings' mother, was on her way back from visiting her daughter in South Carolina when she received a phone call from the sheriff's office letting her know her son was on the run.

"It's just not a nice feeling. You carry them under your heart for 9 months and then you don't know what's going to happen." Murray said. "On the way home and I was thinking has he lost his mind I guess, I don't know what I thought. I was just praying that they'd find him and he'd be okay."

"We didn't find him in the woods and then we had some sightings that he might have made it across the interstate to the west side of the highway," Lieutenant Gary Wiseman with the Washington County Sheriff's Department said. "We know he had a weapon this morning so we have to presume and treat him as if he has a weapon now."

Cummings' mom said she suspects he may have been under the influence.

"He is mostly a very good person until he gets drugs or alcohol then he's different all together," Murray said.

Cummings is about 5'7" and about 160 pounds. Officers and his family are asking anyone with any information on his whereabouts to call 911.

Your tips have actually to Cummings' arrest before.

He was one of 9 suspects arrested after our first "Monday's Most Wanted Roundup" back in July.
