Black Friday off To A Roaring Start for Small Business

Savannah's small businesses are proving they can win at the Black Friday game, too.

We often think that Black Friday is just for the big stores and the malls…but small business can benefit too. In fact, a number of stores on Savannah's Broughton street claim that Black Friday has worked out very  well for them so far.  The manager of Go Fish says  that the customers began rolling in around 10:30 on Friday morning and have been happily making purchases. The manager of the Savannah Bee company, Laura Brown, tells a similar story. She says he's put a great number of products out on the floor, and the customers haven't let up yet.

But the small businesses have another imperative. They're trying to draw still more shoppers, so they're also preparing for what they call Small Business Saturday. It's pretty straight forward; they want to get customers to think of them first as they go out to buy holiday gifts.  If the Black Friday response carries over to the weekend, then the small business will have succeeded!
