Local Black Friday crowds smaller than previous years

Posted: Updated:

Thanksgiving is now behind us, and for many that means it's time to start ticking things off that holiday shopping list. Traditionally Friday is the busiest shopping day of the year, with thousands expected to head to the shops.

In our area, at the Oglethorpe Mall on Friday morning, there was quite a big crowd of shoppers grabbing the early morning deals. However some shoppers said it was not as big as they expected, and experts say that's because so many retailers have decided to open their doors a day early, on Thanksgiving.

If you still haven't made it out to shop yet today here's a list of hours for some of the most popular retailers in our area:

The Oglethorpe Mall: Open Friday until 10pm

Best Buy: Open Friday until 10pm

Target: Open Friday until 11pm

Walmart: Many are open 24 hours, but the deals do not last all day
