RALEIGH, N.C. -

Roads will be closed in downtown Raleigh Saturday for the Raleigh Christmas Parade.

Parking along the route will not be allowed from 3 a.m. Saturday until 1 p.m. Police were out Friday posting signs about that.

On Saturday morning, participants assembled at 7 a.m. at the 700-900 blocks of Hillsborough Street and the 100 through 500 blocks of St. Mary's Street.

The parade is scheduled to head up Hillsborough Street to Salisbury Street, go south on Salisbury to Morgan Street and then will head south on Fayetteville Street to Lenoir Street.

Be sure to check out WNCN's float in the parade, which will have WNCN anchors as well as an additional  surprise.
