Bibles labeled "Fiction" at Costco

Posted: Updated:
SIMI VALLEY, Ca. -

A Costco store in southern California has drawn some unwanted attention this week after labeling some of its Bibles as fiction.

The pastor of Discovery Church says he recently came across the Bibles with "fiction" written on the price tag while shopping for a gift at a Costco store in Simi Valley. Pastor Caleb Kaltenboch took a photo and posted it on social media.

"I saw the bible there," he says, "and I saw the sticker on there and it said 'fiction', and I looked at a bunch of the other Bibles they had there, and all of them said 'fiction.'"

Costco has since apologized, saying a distributor mislabeled a small percentage of Bibles before they were sent to the store. The company said the mistake is being corrected.
