400-pound running back turning heads

A high school football player in Washington State is getting a lot of attention on the internet. Tony Picard’s highlight reel has gone viral, with nearly two million YouTube hits.

What's so special about him?  Well, for one, he's a six-foot-four, 400-pound running back. That's right, a running back! Not a linebacker, as you would expect with that kind of frame.

The reel shows him barreling over three or four defenders at a time. His coach says Picard is a crowd favorite.

“Every time he gets the ball, they go crazy. In fact, when we went to opposing teams, the announcers would even get into it for the other schools, like that was six-foot-four, 400-pound Tony Picard carrying the ball and their crowd was even cheering for him. It was pretty cool” said Andy Bush who is the head football coach at White Swan High School

Picard says the popularity of his online highlight reel is crazy, shocking and unexpected. He says he wants to play for Washington State University and eventually the NFL.
