Pedestrian dies after being struck by car in Durham

DURHAM, N.C. -

A pedestrian died from injuries sustained after being struck by a vehicle Monday night in Durham.

Osahon Osifo, 23, of Durham, was crossing the street in the area of North LaSalle Street and Campus Walk Drive when he was struck by a vehicle around 11:20 p.m. Tuesday.

Osifo was transported to an area hospital with life threatening injuries and is currently listed in critical condition.

Durham police said Osifo died died Thursday.

Police say the driver of the car, 27-year-old Yu Chen of Durham, was not speeding, and alcohol was not a factor.

No charges have been filed and the accident remains under investigation.
