Triangle marching bands compete in America Grand National Championships

INDIANAPOLIS -

The marching bands from Panther Creek and Green Hope high schools participated in the Bands of America Grand National Championships at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis this weekend.

It's the second year the Panther Creek band took part in the competition. Green Hope previously competed in 2011.

The Panther Creek left the high school Wednesday night, traveled through the night to Miami, Ohio, where they rehearsed at Miami University -- then it was on to Indianapolis.

The band performed Friday afternoon in the second day of preliminary competition. They watched the finals Saturday and hit the road Saturday night for home.

Panther Creek won three local competitions this fall, including Cary Band Days.
