Ross Miller, a standout golfer for Sullivan South High School in Kingsport, TN, has signed a letter of intent to attend Milligan College and play golf for the Buffaloes. Milligan’s golf Head Coach Tony Wallingford made the announcement.
Miller, who recently finished T22 in the TSSAA State Championship, is a two time All Big Eight Conference player. This past season he received All District as well as All Region recognition. He recorded an impressive 3-under par 69 in the district tournament, helping lead the Rebels to the District Championship. Miller was a key player for Coach Anthony Richardson and Sullivan South as they won both the District and Regional Championships and placed second at the TSSAA A-AA State Tournament. Miller is active in golf tournaments throughout the region during the summer and has recorded solid finishes at the 2012 Tillinghast Tournament and the Ridgefield’s Invitational.
“We are obviously very excited to have Ross join us at Milligan,” commented Milligan coach Tony Wallingford. “Ross is a really good player with solid upside. He is a hard worker and continues to produce lower scores. But it is when you get to know him that you are truly impressed. He is a top-notch young man. I am confident he will have a great career at Milligan.”
Miller joins a Milligan team that just recently won the AAC Fall Golf Championship shooting an impressive 15-under par as a team. The Buffs are currently ranked 6th nationally in score vs. par and have a No. 38 Golfstat ranking.Miller, an outstanding student, plans a major in Human Performance and Exercise Science at Milligan.
