A man was shot at a Tuscaloosa gas station for apparently being an Alabama Crimson Tide fan.

The Tuscaloosa Police Department reports the shooting happened hours after the LSU-Alabama game, about 2:37 a.m. at a Shell gas station at Skyland Boulevard and Greensboro Avenue.

The 30-year-old victim was shot in both legs.

He told police officers he stopped at the store to use the restroom when two men starting taunting him about being an Alabama fan. The victim and suspects became involved a physical altercation, when one of the suspects pulled out a firearm.

The suspects left the scene in a small vehicle and they are still on the run.

The victim was transported to DCH and suffered non life-threatening wounds.

Sgt. Dale Phillips with Tuscaloosa Metro Homicide said they haven't reviewed the surveillance video yet, but they don’t believe the suspects are LSU fans.
