Former Georgia Southern star Adrian Peterson spent some time in Savannah Thursday night. Talking to a group of kids at Performance Initiative Fitness on the cities Eastside. His stop here was just one of a couple of dozen AP says he's made the last few days. From the Macon area, To Statesboro region to here in Savannah to the Golden Isles. The message, he overcame a serious speech impediment and made it all the way to the NFL where he played for 8 years. A true story of determination.
"I tell them that the on the field stuff was the easy part." He says. "My speech impediment is something I've had to overcome for a long time." "I still do." "But I tell them with strength and determination you can overcome."
AP says he visits the area every year and had spent time in roughly 20 schools this week
