Rock And Roll Marathon Makes Winners of Runners and City of Savannah

One reason runners like the Rock and Roll Marathon is that its big, brash and colorful. In fact runners like it so much they're happy to tap their wallets to make it happen.

Kristen Inman is from out of town -

"I mean between breakfast lunch and dinner, plus my parents are coming to town, probably close to five hundred dollars.."

So residents and visitors are planning to spend hundreds - on the average visitors will drop between 700 and a thousand dollars to run this rock and roll race.

Also, nearly 90 percent of those running in this race will be from out of town - and they will stay an average of three nights. It helps that people really like staying in Savannah.

All told the marathon has an impact of 26.4 million dollars on Savannah. The runners who finish the race first can claim victory, but the Rock and Roll Marathon makes Savannah a winner, too.
