No candy Trick-or-Treat delights children at Vidant

Posted: Updated:
GREENVILLE, N.C. -

Thursday afternoon the hallways of the new Vidant children’s hospital were alive with characters of all shapes and sizes. Children at the hospital participated in the annual Trick-or-Treat festivities throughout the hallways. This year the Trick-or-Treating moved into the new Maynard Children’s Hospital.

Different department throughout the hospital prepare treats for the children at different stations set up in the hallway. To accommodate all the children they don’t give out any candy, but all the stations have neat treats along with hospital personnel dressed up in costumes.

“The staff they look forward to doing this for the entire year. It is such a big day at the Children's Hospital. The kids look forward to it and we have a lot of children have chronic conditions in a comeback and when they're here… You know they would much rather be at home, but if they are here during Halloween they always know they are in for a treat!” said Barbara Batts who is the vice president of the Women and Children’s Hospital.
