Savannah Couple's House in Million Dollar Home Contest

Posted: Updated:

Marti and Gary Bockhold and some friends were clapping earlier today. Their beautiful home on Jones Street in Savannah inched forward in a big contest today on CNBC. Crews came to Savannah last week to film for about four hours. "It was really fun to have them here and they took pictures inside and outside," said Marti.

All day their home will be featured in a contest on CNBC (for Halloween). By noontime, Marti and Gary's home had inched ahead in the competition, winning a round and advancing to the next. "It's like March Madness," Gary told us.

The contest began with seven homes from across the country. Hosts of the show have to guess where the home is and decide if it advances in the competition. When the Bockhold house flashed across the big screen, friends in their living room cheered. One of the program hosts said he thought the house might be in Washington D.C., but another quickly said no - Savannah. Then the Buckhold home was picked as the best and advanced to the next round.

As of 1 p.m. the house now faces three others in the competition. I asked Gary if they win something big if they make it to the final round. "Well, hopefully a buyer," he told me. He says the home is up for sale.
