GREENVILLE, N.C. -

They’ve avoided arrest, making themselves some of Eastern North Carolina’s “Most Wanted.”

For the next month, “9 on your side” is shining a spotlight on these criminals.

Each day this week and later on in November we’ll be featuring criminals from counties and cities across the East.

This Friday we’ll open the “9 on your side” phone bank and take your tips to bring Eastern North Carolina’s “Most Wanted” to justice.

Here are Pitt County’s Most Wanted:

Christopher Canfield has been wanted since April of 2004 for First Degree Kidnapping and Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

"He kidnapped a female at knife point and made her drive him out into the remote areas of the county,” said Lt. Chad Suggs, Pitt County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say Canfield and his victim fought for the knife. The victim was cut but was able to run to a nearby house and call for help. Canfield hasn’t been seen since that night.
