SAVANNAH, GA -

Several road closures are planned along the Savannah State University Homecoming Parade route, set for 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26.

At 7 a.m. Saturday, roads along the EAST Broad Street staging area will be closed to drivers from Gwinnett Street to Liberty Street.

Roads throughout the remainder of the parade route will close to vehicular traffic at 9 a.m.

The parade begins at East Broad and Liberty Streets, then moves west at Broughton Street.

It will then travel on Broughton to MLK.

Finally, the procession will head south on MLK to Anderson Street, where it will disband.

Police have posted flyers throughout the parade and staging route not to park along the road.

Meters in no parking zones will be marked by 3 p.m. Friday.

Parked vehicles remaining in the specified locations after 7a.m. Saturday will be towed, police said.

Drivers are advised to seek different routes.
