SULLIVAN COUNTY, TN (WJHL) -

The man convicted of killing a Bristol, Tennessee police officer is scheduled to be executed on April 22, 2014 at 7:10 p.m, according to the Tennessee Department of Corrections.

A Sullivan County jury convicted Nickolus Johnson of first-degree murder in April 2007 for killing police officer Mark Vance during a 2004 domestic violence call.

He's remained on death row ever since he was found guilty.

Earlier this year, the Tennessee Supreme Court affirmed Johnson's conviction.

Following that ruling, the Supreme Court set Johnson's execution date for April  2014.
