Please keep in mind these are average first dates... and the dates that a first freeze occurs can vary significantly from above.
When frost/freeze conditions are possible... the following advisories will be issued by the National Weather Service.
A Freeze Watch Is Issued When There Is A 50 Percent Or Greater Probability That Low Temperatures Will Drop To 32 Degrees Or Lower... Usually Within 12 To 48 Hours...During The Growing Season.
A Freeze Warning Is Issued When There Is An 80 Percent Or Greater Probability That Low Temperatures Will Drop To 32 Degrees Or Lower... Usually Within 12 To 24 Hours...During The Growing Season.
A Frost Advisory Is Issued When There Is An 80 Percent Or Greater Probability That Conditions Will Support The Development Of Scattered Or Widespread Frost During The Growing Season. Patchy Frost Does Not Necessitate The Issuance Of A Frost Advisory... Except Possibly During Unusually Warm Periods When Vegetation Is More Sensitive.
