Web Poll: Gov. Bentley approves Black Friday, Christmas Eve as state holidays

Posted: Updated:
MONTGOMERY, Ala. -

State employees will enjoy two extra holidays this year.

Gov. Robert Bentley released a statement entitled "2013 Holiday Message to State Employees" revealing that Black Friday and Christmas Eve will be added to the holiday calendar.

Bentley said the move was to show employees how much he values their service.

The statement said: "To our Alabama state employees: I want to say 'thank you.' You are committed to serving the public with integrity and I want you to know how much I value your service. As part of my appreciation for your hard work I'm approving the day after Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve as part of the 2013 employee holiday schedule. These extra days will allow employees extra time to celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas with friends and family. Our employees work hard all year, and I'm grateful for what you do. You deserve these holidays, and I wish you a warm and happy holiday season."

The state of Alabama's website did not reflect these new holidays when accessed Tuesday afternoon.

No. Some of them will be sold to someone that will enjoy the use of that gun for the rest of their life and ...
