Railroad Officials Launch Search after Report of Body

It's not the kind of thing railroad officials hear just every day; a report that there is a dead body on the tracks. But that's the report they got earlier this evening. It was around 3:30 Saturday that police began responding to reports that witnesses had seen a dead body on the railroad tracks in west Chatham county. Those tracks run near  the Salt Creek area of Buckhalter road. Police responded by heading as close to that section of railroad as they could. They were also accompanied by CSS railroad officials. After about two hours of searching nothing was found. However, several of the searchers did say they would continue looking, just to be sure. So far no body of any kind has been recovered.
