Parent Says Bathroom Bully Gave Child a Black Eye

Hardeeville, SC -

At least one parent at Hardeeville-Ridgeland Middle School is taking Bullying Prevention Month seriously, after she tells News Three her grandson came home with a black eye recently.

"He was frightened. He was scared. He didn't go to school for a day or two," says Angela Lee.

And what allegedly happened inside a bathroom at Hardeeville-Ridgeland Middle is giving her grandson nightmares.

"He would wake up screaming 'Get off of me!' and I was like 'What's going on?' and he said 'I had a bad dream. I'm not going to school today,'" says Lee.

"It's very stressful to have a child who doesn't want to go to school because if you have to go to the bathroom you have to watch your back," she says.

Her grandson told her a group of kicks pick fights in a bathroom, and record the fight to put on facebook.

"I have seen that video. He's ruthless," Lee says.

She says she showed the video to school officials, and they suspended the bully. She says that's not enough. Lee wants to stop the bullying altogether, before worse things happen.

"If we could get together as parents and as teachers and look out for each other, that could make it better," Lee says. "If you ain't watching out for a little bathroom fight, what's going to happen next?"
