Man steals money jar from Piggly Wiggly

LaGRANGE, Ga. -

LaGrange police are investigating a robbery that happened Saturday afternoon at the Piggly Wiggly grocery store on South Greenwood Street.

Police said a woman was selling books at a table at the front of the store when a man grabbed the victim's money jar and ran away on foot. The jar contained an undisclosed amount of money.

Authorities describe the suspect has a 19-year-old male with a light complexion,  5'8" tall, with a slim build. He was last seen wearing a beige or gray hooded sweatshirt, white or light colored pants, with a bandage on the side of his face.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call LaGrange Police at 706-883-2603 or Troup County Crime Stoppers at 706-812-1000. Anonymous tips can be texted to 274637, keyword "LAGRANGE."
