ATLANTA, Ga. -

An Atlanta-area couple had some unwelcome passengers in their car recently.

Randy and Margaret Arnold watched and snapped pictures from their home as bears calmly opened their car doors and hopped in. One of the animals opened the console and started pulling stuff out. The cu bear scratched the side of the car as he pulled on the driver-side door and jumped in.

The couple said one bear got tired of the adventure pretty quickly because all he found was a pack of gum and a bottle of water.

A local sheriff had blamed bears for a series of recent car break-ins, but said no one believed him. Now, he believes he as the proof.
