SOUTHSIDE SAVANNAH -

Savannah Chatham Metro Police say a 15 year old student was struck Friday morning on Largo Drive near Windsor Forest High School.

SCCMPD officials say the 15 year boy, who was walking on the sidewalk when he was hit, has serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Charges are now pending against the driver, 54-year-old Jeanenne Marx.  Investigators say Marx was driving a 2007 Ford Fusion south on Largo Drive at Winwood Drive when she left the roadway and struck the student.

The student was transported to Memorial University Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.

The Major Accident investigation Team (MAIT) of the Savannah-Chatham metropolitan Police Department continues to investigate.
