FLORENCE, S.C. -

After more than 1 million bikers rode their motorcycles into Washington DC last month, angry truckers are now planning a drive into the capitol to "restore our Constitutional Republic."

The "Trucker's Ride for the Constitution" is a three day event planned to start on Friday that is sparked by regulations, the debt ceiling, President Obama and "corruption," the organizers say.

Twitter shut down the original account for the group and Facebook also shut down their page when it had 86,000 "likes." They have since restored the Facebook page under a new account.

The plan originally was to have big-rigs tie up three lanes of the I-495 loop with the trucks only going 55 mph, an organizer told US News. But, any plan to block traffic has now been denied by the group.

Now, the group says that it is more about simply not hauling freight and driving to D.C. to call attention to problems.

"The American people are sick and tired of the corruption that is destroying America! We therefore declare a national protest in support of our nation's truckers on the weekend of October 11-13, 2013!" the group says on its Facebook page.

"Truck drivers will not haul freight! Americans can strike in solidarity with truck drivers!"

The original name of the group was "Truckers to Shut Down America" but now has been called Truckers Ride For the Constitution.

The group has also distanced itself from a man, Earl Conlon, who earlier told some media that the group would block highways and try to arrest members of Congress if police intervened.
