Southern Pines police investigating shooting

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. -

Southern Pines Police are investigating a shooting they believe happened at the downtown park at 135 SE Broad Street Sunday around 7:45 p.m.

Police responded to report of a fight in progress at the park and received information that gun shots had been heard coming from the park.

There was no victim at the scene, but a gunshot victim was at Moore County Regional Hospital. The victim, an 18-year-old from Southern Pines, refused to cooperate with police.

The victim's wounds were not life-threatening.

The investigation is ongoing.
