Paula Deen Leads Savannah in Buddy Walk

Posted: Updated:
SAVANNAH, GA -

Savannah's own celebrity, Paula Deen and her son and Jamie kicked-off Savannah's eighth annual Buddy Walk.

Crowds of hundreds gathered to walk a mile around Forsyth Park, after the Deen's cut the ribbon on the fundraiser to benefit the Lowcountry Down Syndrome Society (LDSS).

The $12 admission cost goes to support LDSS and to raise awareness and funds for programs like Camp Buddy, which benefits people with Down Syndrome and their families.

A Family Fun Festival is on the park until 2 p.m. with activities like face painting, bouncing houses, games, music and food.
