Metro Police Prep for Oktoberfest

SAVANNAH, GA -

Metro Police are stepping up patrols throughout the Downtown area in anticipation of large crowds for Oktoberfest.

The 30th annual event is set for Friday and Saturday at Rousakis Plaza on River Street.

Metro Police will close River Street to vehicular traffic on those days between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

No additional road closures are expected.

Police ask visitors to keep a close eye on their children.

Midnight curfew will also be strictly enforced to festival-goers 16 years and younger.

Oktoberfest officially kicks off at noon tomorrow.

The hours are Noon to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
