Beaufort Sheriff's Office Searching for Missing Person

Posted: Updated:

The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office needs your help in locating a missing Lady's Island man.  56-year-old Richard Warren Blankenship was reported missing by family members yesterday morning.  The family told investigators they did see Blankenship Sunday afternoon but he was acting unusually, possibly due to the medication he was taking.  The family became concerned when they went to Blankenship's home and found the power shut off and his vehicle gone.  His family can also not reach him by phone.

Investigators say Blankenship is not a threat but may need some medical attention.  He could be traveling in a maroon 2003 Chevrolet S10 pickup truck with a South Carolina license plate of CPG 532.  Blankenship is white, approximately 5 foot 10 inches tall and 225 pounds.  He has grey shoulder-length hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Investigator Malphrus with the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office at (843) 255-3426 or Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC (274-6372).
