Car Wash to Benefit Effingham Accident Victims

SAVANNAH, GA -

Friends and family of Henry and Lacey Longworth are holding a car wash Friday afternoon to benefit the Longworth family.

It was just Tuesday that Lacey, a senior at South Effingham High School, lost her life in a single car accident.

Lacey was one of two passengers in the SUV being driven by her brother, Henry.  That SUV left the road and struck a utility pole on Old River Road and Bay Road.

The Effingham County Sheriff's Office says Henry Longworth died this afternoon.

He had been in critical condition since the accident.

Another passenger, who has yet to be identified, received minor injuries.

The car wash will continue until 6:00pm at the Advanced Auto Parts in Pooler.
