Study says 15% of U.S. adults aren't online

Posted: Updated:

It might seem like everybody is using the internet these days, but a new report finds that's not true.

According to a Pew Internet and American Life Project survey, 15 percent of adults in the U.S. aren't online.

Nearly all of them said they have no desire to be.

Respondents cited many reasons for not using the internet, including lack of interest and not being able to afford a computer or internet.

The survey found older Americans and those with less education were the least likely to be online.

However, nearly a quarter of unconnected people said they live with someone who uses the web.
