Update: Anonymous Tip Leads to Arrest of Alleged Scam Artist

SAVANNAH, GA -

An update to a story News 3 has been following for more than a month.

Authorities say an anonymous tip lead to the arrest of 46-year-old Daniel Alvin in New York City Monday night.

Alvin faces charges of forgery and theft by deception.

Authorities say he is responsible for scamming elderly and low income people out of thousands of dollars.

16 different people told police Alvin's "Making a Real Change" organization was a fake, and he stole from them.

He is being extradited to Chatham County to stand charges.
