JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) -

Kids and their parents got a big dose of fun today at ETSU where they ran in the rain.

The Niswonger Children's Hospital Family Activity Day kicked off with a kids run.

The fourth annual event hosted by the hospital shows families fun ways to stay healthy in everyday activities.

More than five hundred kids signed up.

They started running at University School and ended at the Mountain States Health Alliance Athletic Center.

"We just hope that it just keeps growing and growing and growing," said Health Advocacy Coordinator Tara Chadwell. "For today, especially in the rain to have this many kids show up is just amazing."

The activity day, which took place at the athletic center, had many different activity stations to encourage kids to get active and stay healthy.
